Amina Siddiqui is a 28-year-old schoolteacher from Lahore's Gulberg neighbourhood. In 2024, during a long stretch of time at home, she did what many of us have thought about doing but never quite got around to: she cleared out her wardrobe.
"I Had 40 Things I Hadn't Worn in Years"
"I kept buying things because they were on sale or because a friend had something similar," she says. "By 2024 I had a wardrobe full of clothes I never wore. I tried selling a few things to friends but that gets awkward. Then my cousin told me to try OurBazaar."
Her first listing — a barely-worn printed kurta — sold within three days. Then a pair of shoes. Then a jacket. By the end of that first month, she had sold 14 items for a total of PKR 18,000.
Building a Routine
"After the first month I realised this was actually a real thing," Amina says. "I set aside Sunday mornings to photograph new listings. I started buying things specifically to resell — from the weekly Sunday Market in Model Town and from friends who were also decluttering."
Her process is methodical. She photographs everything on a white bedsheet beside her bedroom window, writes detailed condition descriptions, and prices items by comparing similar listings on the platform. She responds to buyer queries within an hour.
Tip
"Responding fast is the single biggest thing. Buyers have options. If you reply in five minutes, you are still in their mind. If you reply six hours later, they have already bought from someone else."
The Numbers
Two years in, Amina's OurBazaar store has completed over 340 transactions with a 4.9-star rating. Her monthly revenue has grown from PKR 18,000 in her first month to consistently above PKR 65,000.
- 340+ completed transactions

- 0 unresolved disputes in two years
- Seller Plus subscriber since month three
- PKR 65,000+ average monthly revenue
Her Advice for New Sellers
We asked Amina what she would tell someone just starting out on OurBazaar.
- 1"Start with things you already own. You have zero risk and you learn the platform."
- 2"Take good photos. It is the most important thing and it is free."
- 3"Be honest about condition. One negative review because of a misleading description is not worth it."
- 4"Reply fast. Speed builds trust."
- 5"When you have done 20–30 sales, upgrade to Seller Plus. The commission saving pays for itself."
What's Next
Amina is now exploring the idea of turning her reselling operation into a registered small business. She sources from three Sunday markets, two thrift stores in Lahore, and an informal network of friends and colleagues who know she will give them a fair price for anything they want to clear out.
"I still teach school. I love teaching. But this gives me financial independence that I never had before. I am not dependent on a single income. That is the real value of it for me."
